Este es mi nuevo pez gato, llegó entre un grupo de hypostomus commersoni This is my new catfish, came from a group of Hypostomus commersoni
Como verán, es diferente a H. Commersoni, mide aproximadamente 9 cm As you see, is different from H. Commersoni, measures approximately 9 cm
¿Me ayudan a identificarlo? Will you help me identify it?
This is a difficult on as the only member of the Cochliodon group from the same drainage as H. commersoni is H. cochliodon, which your fish clearly is not. I'll keep looking, but hopefully others more familiar with recent imports will have an idea.

Este fue capturado en el río Paraná, así como muchos otros peces cuyo localidad tipica está definida en el rio Paraguay y en otros afluentes del río Paraná
This was captured on the Parana River, as well as many other fish whose locality is defined in the Paraguay River and other tributaries of the Paraná River
I'd call it an undescribed species of Hypostomus. It has perhaps in the past been IDed as H. cochliodon, but I'm with Shane in thinking it's not and probably a species restricted to the basin.
it looks to me like Cochliodon (Hypostomus) sp. "Bolivia" also known as sp. "Río Mamoré". I caught this species in a lot of rivers in Bolivia. Staeck reported it from the Río Paraguay and it seems to be widely distributed. But there are a lot of similar looking species in this genus. It doesnt´t look like C. cochliodon or H. commersoni to me.
L050 is from the region of Tocantins in the Amazon basin. I don't think they would appear in the same shipment as H. commersoni from the Rio La Plata basin.
