albino tatia intermedia

Post by hullfishman »

hi guys i have some tatia intermedia fry which are just over a week old, all the fry look black apart from 1 which looks almost transparent, it is growing at the same rate as the others but just lacks any colour, could it be an albino? is this a common occurance?
thanks for any replies

Could well be. Let's wait and see whether the pigmentation is just slow or if it indeed becomes an albino (red eyes) or a xanthist (black eyes).
Good spot btw. Any chance of a picture?

And if they are anything like Centromochlus romani, they will be whizzing around at the top of the tank at any time you see them.

just got a couple of pics which turned out ok but it looks like it has a mottled colour when i zoom in. i will upload the pics soon but i dont think it is albino which is a shame but it is definately a different colour to the rest, i will get pics as it grows to see if it darkens to the same as the rest
