Ahh, my favourite old thread has finally bit the dust. :-(

Anyone got a new game? 7 word or word association about fish?

I'll try one.

I'm a mature male with long filaments on my dorsal and pec fins. Females wish they had them.

I tend to live in Brazil's equatorish waters.

I'm a pretty rare import.

Side clue: The Venture Brothers Monarch described me as a terror of the Amazon.
But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I will be unique in all the world..... You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

Not going to break any speed records, but it's the biz' for summer commuting and 65mpg beats the heck out of the 16 my SUV thing sometimes manages (on a good day).

Anyway..

New fish

i) This sucker might have auditioned for the lead role in "The Matrix", but would never have got the part as his eyes are too small.

Mats
Close-ish.. it's the 250.
I'm not sure if Honda sell the 125 here. I've never seen one anyway.
There are no power/capacity limits for new riders, helmet laws or anything like that in this state. (Land of the free etc.)

Anyway, the fish..??
ii) It's from Brazil..

Sidetracking further: So, it's essentially a precursor to the Moto3 specification (250cc Single Cylinder replacing this years 125cc Grand Prix class in 2012). Clearly not quite the same specs - for one thing, it's a "reverse mount" engine, so the cylinder is leaning backwards, the intake is at the front and the exhaust at the back. I expect this class of bike will get more popular with time.

New clue

iii) I have an LDA number..

Hmm.. had to go and look up "Moto3" (shows you how much I know  )
I think if there is any connection it is mostly clever marketing rather than technical.
This thing might have some "go faster" plastic bits on front & a racy model name, but it's as docile as a puppy dog & the engine is the "right" way round (best I can tell).

Anyway, no more mention of bikes unless you also have a go at guessing the fish! - Otherwise we'll be in trouble with the Mods. Oh wait... :-\ ;-)

New Bike
I looked at that one too. Could tell what it was in the pic by the trumpet style exhaust. :d It's a copy of the VFR body. Much lighter than mine.

Very big deal here! Tiny bit More upright than the Ninja 250. Faster in the straights, slower in the corners. Paddy Tyson of Book/bike designer Fame calls it the best bike of the year! Did you get the C-ABS version?

Yes.. the exhaust is ermmm.. "distinctive". I think the Ninja wins in the looks department. Though the H in all black looks pretty good.

No ABS.

I'm not going to give the answer myself -).

New clue:

My genus name is a cross between a glass catfish and a European wels.
