Ah...I see. I have the problem when I take pics with the long exposure also.

For night time viewing in my discus/Peckoltia tank, I'm running 2 sets of Digital Aquatics white moonlight modules, which are 2 LED each. Not sure what you can get in Norway, but white moonlights IMO, look great and more natural than the blue ones, and will give that shimmery shadow effect.

I love this tank!!!
Excellent use of your local resources, a great eye for aquascape, and obviously good at working with your hands. I don't doubt your design but I would be worried about all that weight. I use sand stone and it looks to me like a lot of what you have there could weigh close to 20 kilo each. Is the glass regular, tempered, or something special? Also how thick is the glass?

Hi
The tank is a regular Juwel Rio 240. I have not the excact weight of the stones, but maybe about 50-60 kg in total. The important thing is to spread the weight evenly over the bottom surface. Glass can handle guite some load as long as the load is transferred evenly over the glass area and you dont make "peaks" of weight at a small area. Another critical thing is to make sure that the foundation and table plate are totally smooth and leveled so that the tank or glas does not bend in any direction. I also used 4 cm of fine sand in the bottom of the tank, before adding stone and gravel in order to make sure that no stones ever get in contact with the bottom glass.

I were in contact with an glass craftsmann in order to get some advices with regards to this. The tank has been up and running for 10 weeks now.

Thank you for the details, and you should be quite proud of your creation. That is one of the best uses of stone I have ever seen.

Both are nice, but if forced to choose, I'd side with Dan. But looks is not the only thing one has to worry about when designing a tank...
