hi all just a quick one is this a L400.
the L numbers I keep and breed L066/L333/L400/L046/L102/L260/L136/L262/L134/L070/L174/L201/L129/L340/L270/L325/H contradens/lemon bns/L411

I agree with Saul, I recently picked up a half dozen Lower Xingu's just like those.Aren't they just gorgeus.

lower xingu has a square tail - this fish has a lyre tail of L400 or L399. I don't think it's 400, but 399 is a good possibility. Size matters, too. Smaller 400's are more sparsely spotted/striped and gain marks as they grow. It could even be L066 - they look very nicely marked as smaller fish and get the tight scribbles as adults.

Hi,
Looks like L 66, hard to identify. The picture is too bad. In my opinion, Hypancistrus sp "lower xingu" is not a single variant. I know at least 4 different forms, all imported as "lower xingu". I think even "santarem" (now l-450) has been imported as "lower xingu".
