Don't know what they are. Mine where much lighter yellow (from L052 for sure, as it was the only Loricariid in the tank). I'd call the egg colour "lemon".

Edit: However, there's nothing saying they don't change colour as the eggs develop. If the fry turn into L052, we want some pictures for the Cat-eLog - but best wait to see what they look like first.

These are for sure L52 eggs and fry, very sensitive when you hatch them instead of the father.

Thnx Matt30

Don't know why, but fairly common here in Norway... But, the LFS don't seems to separate them from L-168:-)
I can get them at a cheap price, last i bought (lost a lot though) I payed about £5 for nearly adult fish...

There are L052 at MA @ Bracknell at the moment. I've also seen them at Wildwoods and Pier. I wouldn't call them common, and from Shane's comments, they appear to need very soft water to breed.Neil at Pier said that they aren't hard to get hold of.

Janne was right, this went very bad. But then we know that as more info at least.
Some of them must have hatched before i removed the eggs, since there is a few fry hanging on the glass.

BTW Janne, why is it that this species eggs are hard to hatch separate?

The eggs often hatch a little to early when removed and the fry are very tiny just a little larger then a Sturisoma fry, the yolksac is consumed within a few days (2-3) and their first food must be very small. It was long time ago I worked with this species and I never succeeded to raise more than maybe 50%, the rest starved to death within a few days after the yolksac was consumed. It seems to be that kind of species that should be bred in a species tank, leave the eggs and fry to daddy and when the fry leaves after a few days the breeding nest they will find their first food among alga, detritus and left overs.

Try, easy to breed b-)
So far I`w counted over 30 fry, and 6 survivors from the brood that I destroyed, by trying to hatch them alone....

KH would be a more useful information than either of pH or GH.

When my L52 laid eggs, they were in a tank with pure RO water and just a little bit of cacliferous rocks, so KH would be about 2-3, pH around 7 and TDS around 70-80. Eggs fungused, and then my wife gave the fish away...

So, KH of 0 will eventually lead to a pH of 4. Not that dramatic, I suppose. But certainly not the best for the fish either. You may want to mix in just a tad of your tap-water to get the KH to 2 or 3.

Probably because something in the tank adds KH!

Altenatively, your pH test isn't accurate.

well both are an options but ph also test other water with below 7 and I doubt it is wrong. But everything could be.

It is more likely that something is providing your tank with enough KH to keep the pH neutral. Or your KH test kit isn't accurate, that's another option.

Pure water will turn into a pH lower than 7, around 5.8 or so, simply by absorbing CO2 from the air.

hehe well I never understood the water parameters so yes the KH test could be wrong yet again i test them with strips and liquid. Is it possible that both are wrong? Also the make is Tetra and I think they are quite reliable yet again I am no one to judge if they are wrong or not. I am just writing what I found in my aquarium.

Right, what we are trying to do here is to try to figure out which way we are going on a cloudy day on the open see with no compass and no land in sight [and no other "clues"].

If you don't know which (if any) test is correct [and I certainly can't tell you], then we can't know what is what...

Did you use a pleco cave for breeding or did you use slate or rocks and they made their own cave? If you used a pleco cave what was the approximate size? Thanks
