Wanted Parancistrus nudiventris L031, L176, L300 etc.
Righto dudes and dudettes, I am looking for as many of this species as I can find so if you have some, can get some or have seen some for sale in a fish shop please PM me.
They are a bit of a pain to ID properly and are often mislabeled.
Commonly seen as peppermint plecos just like loads of other black spotted plecs.
Basically the best way to tell them apart from other 'black with white spotted ' plecs is their lack of plates on their underside, they have really large gill openings which you can really see when they are turned upside down.
'Dorsal fin with membrane of last ray expanded posteriorly, attaching to preadipose plate or the adipose spine'
Basically their dorsal fin looks attached to the adipose and looks continuous.
I want loads of these so that I can breed them in case they get wiped out by the idiots building a dammed dam in Brazil.
So help a brother out and be all green and environmental and help this species out.
Please
Matt

Wildwoods in Essex had some when I was there a month or two ago. I couldnt say which kind but they were fairly plain brown. Its a bit of jaunt for you but I think they deliver, might be worth a call.

Reason: May help with proper name in the title...Parancistrus instead of Parancisrurus

tropicalfishfinder.co.uk is listing three shops having them in stock here.
Might be worth a try ringing the shops. If you are really nice, they might even take a photo and email it to you for ID.

Re: Wanted Parancistrus nudiventris L031, L176, L300 etc.
Yeah, funny that.
When I typed in "Parancistrus nudiventris" I got nothing too, but entering "L031" gave me the result.
Seems they have two entries: one with scientific name "Parancistrus nudiventris" and the other with scientific name "L031" and common name "Parancistrus nudiventris".
Persistence is always the key ;)

Only good sites have an amalgamated search on common and scientific names.
