Disease!

Post by tortelli »

Well, I guess I will never get to see this little guy grow bigger enough to identify it
but, can you guys help me diagnosing which disease is this?
Image
he is full of small white dots just like icthyo.. (oodinium?)
and now there are these severe bruises all over him..

if anyone can help me identify its species, it would be great also

I think the fish is a Pimelodella, but it wil lalmost certainly be a member of the family Heptapteridae.

@ desease - it could be a bad case of itch, but also be fungal or bacterial. Itch might be curable through salt or special medicines, but catfish are sensitive to these medicines and salt is quite often a bad adie - for fish from South America, that is
cats have whiskers

exactly as I thought..
I tried garlic mix on its food..
but it seems its only getting worse!
I don't expect it to make it.. unfortunatly

I just want to make sure which is this disease and how to prevent recurrence..

thanks for the info on its identification..
at first I thought it was a pimelodella..
but also thought it could be a rhamdia!

I'm not good at identifying fish precisely.
