Synodontid ID please

I would like to get your opinion re identification of this species. Individuals are 4-5 inches. Thanks.

I bought 3 of these, which were sold as S. ornatipinnis. That looked right to me, but I wanted to get an expert opinion, given the rampant availability of hybrids. I'm obviously quite pleased that they are "real".

First time that I have ever been offered the chance to buy this species in the United States in the 12 years that I've been after uncommon synos. And I never had seen one except in the photos here.

So far they seem to be getting along together. Two are about 5 inches long, and the other about 4 inches. They are in a 210-gallon tank with lots of wood (and lots of other synos). Like most cats, hang around in or near the wood until it's time to eat, when they do scoot around with everybody else.

Well off to work, where access to this site is restricted by our filter (state govt).
