Need help for xingu biotope

Hi all, I'm having a 8'X4' fgt tank soon for my L14s. It'll be for my breeding project of them. With the fgt, I'm able to add a much larger cave than what I can offer in a 4.5'X2' tank. Since the sunshines are from xingu, would love to replicate the biotope and hopefully it helps in their spawning.

The main problem is I dont know how their xingu habitat looks like. Is it super fast flow or just average flow? Is it a rocky setup or just any average amazon setup with lotsa driftwood? Any dither fishes that you can recommend to make the fgt look more lively? Thanks a lot guys, really need some help!

Mines like a pond so it's kinda tricky to scape. Is the xingu rocky throughout or is there parts where the river like any other amazon tributaries where it is driftwood filled?

I'm sure a river that is several hundred kilometers long varies quite a bit from one place to another, but as far as I understand, it's largely rocky riffles and not a whole lot of other habitats.

Ahh, thats what I wanted to know. Thanks a lot. Hoping a larger space will have a higher chance of having the L14 to spawn

Larger tanks are great for the fish but in order to get fish to breed they also need very clean water and for me the problems with big tanks is the amount of water needed to do a 50% water change. I don't know how many gallons your tank holds but if its a 200-300 gallon your going to need 100-150 gallons every water change. Not saying anything bad, just sharing my thoughts. I do 50% water changes 1-2 times a week and to me that would be a lot of water to come up with. Especially RO water if your not lucky enough to have neutral water out of the tap.

Since you mention it I have seen videos of Gold Nuggets being caught by fisherman in submerged logs in the Xingu.

now that you guys have spoken about it, i checked and found plenty of plecos living in the xingu river. any recommendation on community peaceful fishes that comes from xingu? preferbly those that are not skittish.

Any? Preferably fishes from xingu, like some characins maybe? Can't find much info on fishes living there.
