Information

Wild caught
Location stated as Columbia.
Size just under 4" total
Female turns rusty brown and gold pattern during spawning.
Fry 1 year old
clutch size 20 eggs

I'm pretty certain the above fish are from Rio Xingu - not Colombia. I certainly haven't seen any fish that has this sort of contrasting pattern from Rio Orinoco or Upper Amazon regions.

I am pretty sure most fish listed as coming from Columbia are from Brazil.
All I do know is they came in to the UK from an importer and were on the list as L066 which they are not, by any stretch of the imagination.
The reason for requesting an ID is that the fry are now of a size that i can sell so some firm location or ID would be helpful when listing.
I would be adverse to just stating they are a Hypan variant as this gives the buyers little information.
So may I conclude that so far you are not aware of any L Number for this fish?

L66 can have many different patterns and the size of 4" inches also matches the description of the King Tiger Pleco family.
I believe you have a nice L66 pair.

If I'm not mistaken, L287 doesn't exist anymore and has been renamed L400. But I'm not sure.
I have some that look very similar. They have been ID as L400.
