I agree, there does seem to be some kind of 'extra ingredient' in stella to make it, er, special.

Its a favourite, anyway.

Hi MC
what's up mate? (couldn't help myself here  )
As an aussie, can I just say, with no offence meant to those who love it, Fosters Lager is one of our worst beer's.
funny, it's about the only aussie-beer over here, and not too bad, I think.

but the real joke is THIS:
Heineken,
wich is one of THE most vile, badtasting horsep*ss ever brewed on the planet.

No selfrespecting Southern Dutchman (yup, we're different from the northern "Hollanders") will drink this stuff,ever.....

MJAMMIE!

ps there's a warning on this beer; it's all heathen/pagan stuff.
Unless you want to get painted in blue woad, antlers or horns all set up and cruise the woods; go easy on the bock

Yeah XXXX is awful, its what my friends (young and very lacking in money) drink.

Though I can think of something worse- superstrength! Poisonous stuff!

I'm from the Northern UK. That's how we relax on a weekend. Are you trying to say there something wrong with that? It also allows me to collect nice beech branches and leaf litter for my aquaria.

You are just jealous cos you can't get woad up there in the frozen lands, so we send it to you in exchange for your best Whisky.

definitely not!

I'd probably get burned at the stake 200 years ago, but it's right up my ally.

Just wanted to warn off the non-used beerdrinkers on Bockbeer, it's quite lethal.

I've seen it happen, lots of times;
English-, Scots- or Irishmen coming over to our dried-out ex-swamp; drinking upspeed like they do at home, using Belgium- or Bockbeer in the same amount as they're used to do lager or guinness, and then sticking up a fat reefer.

@sid cant remember that Bock brand...its been quite a while...more than 10 years ago when i was in A'dam with my parents...

But we went to the local irish pub last night and my girlfriend tried and liked Newcastle! Drank a pint which is the volume she consumes in a month normally...:) I stayed with Guinness...

Beer!

Who was it that recently wrote about reaching into
aquariums while cleaning after a few beers??

Grolsch Amber
Guiness Stout
Foster's Ale
Porter by anyone . . . sadly hard to
find in the US, a nation that seems to
prefer wimpy white-water weak beers.
(No offense intended to the Lite crowd.)

No citrus with my beer, thank you.

Just wanted to speak out two beer warnings...
Tusker - Finest Quality Lager from Kenya
The can looks nice and they have a funny story that the founder was killed by an elephant and thus the brand was named tusker after the "tembo" (elephant). Claims to be the first beer in east africa 1922 and has won 15 gold medals...tastes horrible. I stayed with GinTonic (helps against malaria if you drink 10 glasses a day ) :)
the second warning goes for a german strong beer
Vetter 33, claiming to be the strongest beer in the world with an "original gravity"? (Stammwürze in German) of 33,19 %
I think the waiter said it has 2.5 times more alcohol than their normal beer so around 13% i guess...i was "in a good mood" after i finished that one...
The taste is like melting a bavarian malt candy in alcohol...never tasted such a sweet, thick stuff...
cheers

Boy, a subject close to my heart and I just now get to it....

Ok, Elephant beer....potent? you gotta be kidding! Try Gale's old Prize Ale (Britain), Thomas Hardy Ale (Britain), Stone Brewing's Old Guardian, Essentially, any Scotch Ale, Barley Wine, or strong ale beer style will be 8 to 15% on average.

Now on to the LIST

1) Best breweries in my opinion are as follows from best to worst: Dragonmead (Detoit, MI), Stone Brewing (California), Weihenstephaner (Bavaria), Gales and Fullers tie (both from Britain), Dogfish Head Brewery (California), Beamish, Guinness,Three Floyds (Indiana), Cooperstown (NY), New Belgium Brewery (Colorado), Reisdorph (Cologne, Germany), and any brewery that makes good Alt style!

2) Best beer: A cask conditioned real ale from Dragonmead....Dragonsbreathe Bitter
3) Favorite style : It doesn't matter as long as it isn't a FRUIT BEER or a HOT CHILE BEER!
4) Free is good, but only to a point! I have to be able to taste it!

5) Favorite Beer quote: Ben Franklin (one of the founding fathers of the USA) stated it best, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

Of course my own quote of soooo many beeers and so little time.....(Sigh)! is also very profound!

6) Homebrew....It's good! Of course the best part is that you get to make it yourself and tweak it to your tastes or MAD MAD experiments!

ok, before I ramble on too much..I'll hold off before I am forcibly removed from the site!

Cheers!

Hey, what's superior to the first beer after a hot day in Africa, and then something nice to eat, like this Oreochromis niloticus on the plate?

best beer

Post by dag »

Wow , not many Canadians logging on for this topic , so here goes

Big Rock Grasshopper YUMMY
Kokanee

Both are canadian beers that are delicious and strong enough without being as strong tasting as guiness. They also look better than those dark scary concoctions . I tried some of the european stuff when I was there but just couldn't get used to it . I did drink alot of Heineken though and liked that very much .

bavaria is GREAT,
guiness isn't!
Stella Artois is too sweet,
Kilkenny is awsome,
Tuborg is not THAT good,
Heineken still makes me burp like a pig,
and Bud tastes like shit after all that beer
But you have to try "Ožujsko", premium beer from CRO!!!
cheers
