Unexpected pleco friendships

My sunshine pleco (L014) Scobinancistrus aureatus and Black lancer catfish Bagrichthys macracanthus share their beds together every night (or should i say day) . They can not tolerate any other fish invading their space apart from each others. They lie on top of one another or side by side, yet the black lancer will nip any other fish and the pleco will body slam other intruders.
Has anyone got pictures of unexpected or unusual pleco friendships?
Or maybe plecos that just hate each other that you would not expect?

Is that a female lancer? It doesn't look like it has the "gonopodium" of a male - it's not possible to see in the picture if it's got long or short barbels.

I think this is mimicry. Don't all beautiful people like superstar models hang together too?

I only have an S. euptera that lives on top of a Kuhli Loach's grass. Still trying to get a clear pic of the loach and the syno both looking out at the same time. Because of the grass, it would really be two different 'habitats' I think. Not quite as dramatic as your fish!

"friendship" & "hate" are not feelings that fish have. In the artificial confines of an aquarium, with unnatural tankmates , and lack of territory and hiding spaces, some fishes which have minimal aggression between them will often occupy the same space when at rest, and often they are very dissimilar

Since posting my picture my L014 pleco has left sharing beds with the black lancer and has pinched my black ghost knife fish hiding place. The black ghost knife fish now shares with the black lancer. There are loads of hiding places in my tank, I think their must be optimal hiding places, heat, current etc.
I know fish do not have likes or dislikes Its just weird how different different species interact and have certain tolerances for different species. Maybe something to do with smell?
