Just on this thought, do we have matching locality data? Where are these fish coming from?

Would make sense if they are from Río Caquetá drainage, Morelia, Colombia.

Very nice Yann!
What yellow colors on that second picture. Are they still like that?
I remember mine had that shade of yellow as well, a couple of years ago, but after a short while disappeared fully.

The T. dunni's ,mouthshape resembles Siluris glanis :o

And it's a goner. Positive is that it was definitely an individual thing.
Negative thing is that this species is becoming very irritating because of their behaviour. Way beyond panicking every time someone dares to approach the tank with two bad consequences:
- they keep themselves constantly injured (and thus probably more liable to diseases)
- other fishes (Markiana) are becoming very skittish as well

To anyone doubting the purchase of , stop doubting. Simply don't buy. In my opinion and experience this auchenipterid is highly unrecommended. Sorry.

I won't answer your question to Yann, but I bet you a couple of euros the yellow wore off rather quickly. Just like in your and mine specimens.

However...... I recall Yann telling that a friend of his has (had?) specimens that remained yellow, which would imply fabulous water conditions.

So it's (still) up to Yann to answer, but the bet is off

Agreed. My nigripinnis aren't that skittish. Now they live with 50+ Puntius filamentosus and P. arulius and the catfish swim with them all the time. The barbs and catfish don't get scared easily in a such large shoal.
This is by far the best combination i've tried with these cats.

Hi!!

yes they lost their yellow colour by now...but mainly because I keep them in tap water, they did keep their yellow colour in R/O water and they were kept under these conditions for several months.
I was also wondering about my "new" perugiae" as the hard rays of the pectoral, dorsal fins have spots which the other did not have...also adipose is coloured.
Makes me wonder if this could be considered as possible within the species variation or something else...shape seems a bit different..my "older" perugiae are a bit more elongated rather to the new ones

Cheers

Sorry guys, no pictures today. The fish are still a bit too skittish, so i didn't got any good enough pictures. The other species are:

Hemidoras cf. stenopeltis

Rhinodoras sp
And one mystery catfish. I think it's somekind of Ictalurus.

My friend Jippo got some real rarities. A real for example! Jippo said he's going to start a new thread so you can see what else he brought with him from Germany.

Nice list indeed and still looking forward to pix, whenever they may come. Take your time; it's important those fishes get some peace & quiet first.
OF? Isn't that Oliver Frank (= Tanganyika.de)?

Well Mats, I wish that was the case, but on their website it says:

...Daß wir ausschliesslich den Großhandel beliefern... which means that they only deliver to wholesalers.

If somebody is going there, check this nice little characin (sorry, a bit off topic):

They will sell to individuals, with the appropriate checks, but you've got to buy in quantity. The text on the website, I suspect, is to stop people emailing with "how much for three tetras please" type emails. Three thousand and you've got a deal.

Once I ordered fish from Austria - from a wholeseller

It was clear - they would not have sold to a fishkeeper in Austria (competing your customers is not a good idea) - but as I was far away - no problems there

Obviously, buying from a wholeseller you need to buy quantities. Don't argue needlessly. But if you go for 50 tetras and 10 of the above gulper? I would not see any problem

Does anyone know what the fish Neil at Peir is selling as Ageneiosus sp. 'Blue'?
One of the members of another forum asked my advice on ID after buying one, and the nearest I could get was , but the pictures are very blurred and difficult to distinguish any real detail.
Thanks
