Yeahh, my first zebra spawn!!
Hi all,
Yesterday my very first fry hatched from my zebra's
Because this species is my favorite of all hypancistrus I'm over the moon It took me nearly exactly 1 year to get them to spawn. I bought the (now breeding) wc pair on the 10th of september last year, added some more on the 16th of september this year and 3 weeks later they had spawned for me Absolutely great!!!
I found 6 eggs yesterday at the back of the cave. Dad had left them and I was scared an other zebra would go in the cave and eat them. So I put them in a fry trap. 4 Didn't survive, mostly due to not getting out of their egg shell.... So yesterday I helped the last 2 that were still alive. They survived the night and are still doing fine this afternoon, so I'm confident they will live now
Here are my first baby pictures

Re: Yeahh, my first zebra spawn!!
Day 4.
I read some were about some spikes at the top back end of the head on fry, I think it was the one surviving L240 fry of Havard Stoere. Taking the pictures of my zebra fry I could see the same spikes. Do all fry have these and do we know what the reason is for these?
Here a picture were you can see them:
