Just had first spawn of Albino Cory's...what to feed the fry

Post by sandman76 »

I read the sticky about this.. however I don't know if I can get my hands on micro worms. Would frozen brine shrimp be allright, or are they too big? Then do I crush up flake food real fine to make it a powder? I am a newbe, so this is very exciting for me, and I want to be prepared when these little guys hatch. Thank you for you help, any is appreciated.

You can feed frozen baby brine shrimp. If it is not available try some micro powdered flake food or a piece onf a sinking pellet. make sure you wait for the yolk sacs to dissolve before feeding the fry.

my baby corys eat baby brine shrimp, NLS Growth small granules,Hikari micro pellets, defrosted frozen anything, (tubifex, bloodworms, shrimp, eyc) I think when they are way small they eat micro bio film infusoria stuff. I have also seen them on a shrimp pellet and hikari tropical wafers etc. Anything they can scrape away nibble on.

You can make very fine powder of many types of food by grinding it in a peppermill or a mortar and pestle. I've used this to make baby food from for example Tetra Prima (Tetra Bits, Tetra Discus - all names of the same food).
