Look what I found...
Was going through some bits and pieces, when I came across this:
It was available to members of a now defunct catfish related group - I know Jools and Steve will remember...anyone else?

Nice fine. At first I thought it was a Black Lancer, but it's a Synodontis I think.

I think it is one of the CSG/CAGB badges. Brachysynodontis batensoda I believe. I have a special catfish judge coloured one. Red I think.

I've got one of them in the back of the bedroom drawer . . I think.
I have a look tomorrow and check.

Ok, Martin, now you got people rummaging through their bedroom drawers. Half of your goal must have been accomplished, right?

Re: Look what I found...
That is one of the original member badges for the Catfish Association of Great Britain, defunct around 1993. The Catfish Study Group, which was an area group of the CAGB, resurrected the badge in a two colour form in 2009, to celebrate there 30th anniversary.

Yes, Ian is right (of course). I worked with and knew Gina Sandford at a large LFS and also knew her husband, Mike. They were both very involved in the CAGB when I knew them, not sure if they are still active in the catfish and aquatic press.
I've had the badge for about 20 years, it will just stay safe in my bedside drawer.

Well, not quite, but am glad to see there's a few of us hoarders out thereViktor Jarikov wrote:Ok, Martin, now you got people rummaging through their bedroom drawers. Half of your goal must have been accomplished, right?

Re: Look what I found...
What'd be really cool is that if you now spotted people wearing these in public, thanks to you dragging out precious memories. I imagine catfish nuts would be very happy to wear something like this, which may be thought of by them as a small (secret?) sign of belonging to the same breed.
