Which panaqolus?

I bought these as lda01/l169 but just saw the comparison picture with l271 and wanted to confirm. They're large adults and the container they're in is about 5" across on the inside so the fish are roughly 3" sl or slightly smaller.

I would say

Panaque sp(l374)

but then again, there are a few species that look like this, and the differences in color and pattern between these species and even between individuals belonging to the same species don't make identification a lot easier. L397 is, for example, another candidate.

I'm certainly no expert though! let's wait for what others have to say about these. they are very beautiful, if that counts for something

I'm no expert on these but my first thought before looking at your post was LDA01.

I dont think its l169 either.

and the markings on the head seams to differ alot from l271 too
