@ VJ, you suggest not to go deep into whether people are bad, or not, by nature, but still it's hard to resist
Personally, I think I'm quite close to Sid's point of view, but I think we should not leave it at that point. In this case the matter was started by an observation of an odd behaviour by a shopkeeper. Although this dis surprize me, in general, we should try to be as emphatic as possible: having a pershop does, after al, not abolish problems such as mortgage payments
For me, only keeping fishes as a hobby, it's easy to say 'one should not sell fishes which are not suitable for a tank'. If I was a petshopowner, making say 400 euros (today some 500 US $) of badly needed money by selling them - allowing me to pay the mortgage for another month, I don't think I would sing the same tune
Most likely, the shopkeeper Marc encountered has had a few bad experiences which made him this way

that's very plausible, but there IS such a thing as professionalism.
in wich case one takes one's job serious.
taking it out on customers definitely doesn't file under that one.

Yes you're right Sid.
I was just trying to inject (a little) humour.

Whilst that is true we all still have moments. I work in a primary school and you can believe me when I say, it doesn't matter how many qualifications you have or how professional you are, sometimes you're gonna lose it. Which is why we have a staffroom, away from kids but not everyone has that luxury.sidguppy wrote:that's very plausible, but there IS such a thing as professionalism.

I wouldn't go back either if it happened, nor would I expect my money issues to allow me to deliberately doom an animal to it's death. I have morals!
I won't discuss religion. I have strong views on many of them and their origins. Wouldn't want to upset 90% of the population.

Poor dab he was all confused...........
It really frustrates me when I see a business that has potential which is not being realised, leave it to someone that will make the most of it.

One more bucket of water and the farce is complete.
