How do you treat Corys for worms?

Post by jo o »

I have my Corys in a community tank that has been no problem until now.
I moved house about a month ago and the new house only has tank water.
I have found Camallanus Worms in my young plakats.

I have been treating the Betta in a small hospital tank with levimasole.
I am not surw if its safe to use on the Corys?
is there something eles I could use that would be safe?

Most of the anthelmintic (such as Levamisole) are very gentle on the treated animals - they are very "specific" to worms. I have used a related subsance, Fluebendazole in my tanks, and plecos as well as corys seem to behave just like usual with this medication in the tank [and this is not just my observation either - several other members use these type of medications on a more or less regular basis for new acquisitions etc].

So, in conclusion, Levamisole should be fine with your corys.
