please identify these catfish

these belong to my friend, he rescued them but was told they are bristlenose, which obviously they're not, they are 12" long at present...thanks

Yes, they are definitely , and the brown one I'm pretty certain is .

The albino one is more difficult to identify, but I do think that too is a P. gibbiceps in a colour morph (sort of albino, but not quite).

The albino could be a gibbiceps, but I doubt it. You can look for a bump on the back end of the head (like on the gibbiceps) and that'll make it one of the gibbiceps-like Pterygo's.

does the one on the right need more food or is it the angle of the shot? his head on top looks indented.

Those ridges that make it look like there are indentations are typical of P. gibbiceps.

It's a folded dorsal(yellow pl*co), but do you think there are enough fin rays for Pterygoplichthys?

I'm sure enough to bet a dollar that it's a Pterygoplichthys - and I only bet when I'm sure I'll win! But of course, a photo of the dorsal raised would confirm.

I totally agree that the brown one's definitely a P. gibbiceps.

The other one I'd say is a . Overall body shape is wrong for a P. gibbiceps, and an albino gibbiceps has the same pattern as the normal coloured ones.
