Re: red scarlet pl*co
Are these just 2 fish or a pair?
I would expect these fish to be quite long lived - 15years as a guestimate.
As for price, any fish is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.....

Re: red scarlet pl*co
not a breeding pair just two that have lived together in a 90 gallon tank for five years.
I wanted to buy myself a cool fish for my b day.I did not think i would have such a choice.I found a 12 inch blue eye for 1 thousand us dollars or these two scarlets for 375.00.

I have to agree completely, just make certain that if you do get them you are fully prepared to take care of them. These are carnivorous plecos that make alot of waste! Beautiful fish-very hard to find that size anymore since they are banned from export.matthewfaulkner wrote:IMO you'd be crazy not to to get the two L25.

Re: red scarlet pl*co
oh yes i am well aware of pleco waste as i keep over 200 currently but also keep poly endli's,azul bass, tiger datnoids, indo tarpon, big eels,etc..so water changes do not bother me.I keep some other carnivorous L numbers as well.I am around 1500 gallons in my 1 bed room apartment, lol.

You have what sounds like an amazing apartment, but I wouldn't want to be living in the one below yours...
I guess you wear flippers not slippers
Nice catfish, good luck.

Re: red scarlet pleco
$375 for two of these is a very good price - go for it.
Considering that (well cared for) smaller Hypancistrus live for more than 15 years, the larger plecos should certainly do even better.

Re: red scarlet pl*co
For about $1,000 US (ok, a little more), you can buy both the 2 scarlet plecos and a 6 inch blue-eyed pleco for $650:
