L030 Peppermint Pleco or not?

Post by doctorzeb »

Just been into my LFS, and they had some Peppermints for sale at about £17.00, (2"). There were 2 in the tank that definately looked like peppermints, but then there were two that were light brown in colour with slighlty yellower spots.

The spots were a little less defined and more scattered, (i.e. smaller and more of them), than the peppermint. The head was also a little wider, and the pectoal fins looks a little rougher. Sorry I didn't get any pictures, (my wife would think I was REALLY obsessed if I took the digital camera in with me).

Is this just a peppermint pleco or somethin different. I've had a brief look through the catelog, but can't see an example.

cheers

rob
My wife made the mistake of buying me a 2 ft tank and it grew to 7ft.

Dear Doc, We import L30 all the time and regularly get several different species of fish all mixed in together. They are all dark colours with spots. Some are black, some are brown, some with few spots and some with lots of spots, some with white spots some with blue spots and some with yellow spots, some have white edges to their fins, and there are several different body shapes. We did import a very nice L30 last year at just short of 8" but it was DOA. what I am trying to say is that I do not know what fish you have but there are very many different fish that are being exported as Peppermints.
