C. apurensis info

hey, just got myself a new, bigger, tank and im trying to figure out which of my dream cats i can keep in it. Tank is 48"x24"x24" with 2 eheim 2028's.

first on the list is cephalosilurus apurensis, which have always been pretty high up on my wanted list. The cat-elog lists their adult size at 11.9", and given that they are very sedentary cats, would one be ok in a tank that size?

Next we have sorubima lima, bit of a classic, but again one iv always wanted to keep. A cotm article suggests a 55gal tank, but iv always read this was a bit on the cramped side. Again any advice would be much appreciated.

Thats all I can remember at the moment, ill update this if I remember any more.

S.Lima need much bigger tanks - the CotM article is incorrect in stating 55g - this is in a separate thread somewhere...

The

Cephalosilurus apurensis

would fit very well into your tank, as long as another species is not purchased by accident...

Excellent, thanks! Yep, read the article on C. fowleri- one of them would get a wee bit cramped. With this sized tank im guessing it would need to be a species tank?

Really, it does need to be a species tank as pretty much anything else will realise it is in potential danger & be stressed out.
