Pterygoplichthys ID

Post by Dalek Tzet »

I'm 99.9% sure he's a Pterygoplichthys, and he was sold to me as a "common" pleco, but which flavor of Pterygoplichthys he is eludes me, he has a reticulated belly, but doesn't quite resemble the pictures of disjunctivus that the cat-elog suggests as a common mix-up. He's 7" from tip to tip.

Your fish is . Most of the pictures in the Cat-eLog are of large adults, which may explain the difference you are seeing.
