Re: west lothian talk by Jools
It was an introductory / general thing on l-numbers. I asked the club members to give me some questions to prepare for and I then answered them as best I could for the talk.hotchiliz wrote:Would you like to share with us, whats the topics that he has covered??
Q's:
Why are they called L numbers?
Where do they come from?
What are the water parameters?
Can you tell us any spawning triggers for L numbers, corys or any other catfish?
What is the breeding behaviour for L numbers?
Are there any L numbers that have been classified twice but are the same fish?
Should you use planetcatfish, or aqualog for identification purposes?
Some wholesalers are advertising “wild caught” zebra plecs. Has the ban been lifted or is this false advertising?
What are your favourite L numbers?
What is the most expensive L number you have seen, owned, or know of?
What is the best type of food for L numbers?
How long in general do L numbers live for and at what age does breeding normally take place?

You managed to get me two PMs complaining about hijacking the thread if truth be told.

Re: west lothian talk by Jools
It was a relatively basic thing and most of the info given can be gotten on this site. Also, a personal view of mine, but I think a talk remains the IPR of the speaker and, as such, distribution of recordings (espeically if permission was not sought), is tatamount to piracy.andywoolloo wrote:can we get it transcribed or in a mp3 format? If you can get your local club to pay for the flights, I'd be delighted to return to California. It's the state in the US (and I've been in 35+ states I think) that I have visited the most and have very fond memories of.

Thanks Godfrey, 6+ eh? Can't beat eBay style feedback on a talk. I thought the venue was better too although a little cramped it felt very welcoming.godfreyhales wrote:i was also present at the talk today by jools and went away loaded with new info, also good to meet old and new friends. cant wait for his next talk.++++++
Shane will also love the tank ornaments you gave me for him. (Sorry chaps in joke). Maybe Godfrey will post a pic of his new "pleco bunker" products to explain...
