Leporacanthicus galaxias FULL GROWN ADULT FEMALE!

Post by whiteymoza »

This is the same add as the one I posted here on aquarist classified here: http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/p ... 166739.php

Left out the email address though because you can use the PM system or post on here (Probably better because I will know where the offer is coming from then!) Bit sad to sell this fish but I cant really keep it any longer and dont want to take it into work because I KNOW some idiot will buy it when I'm not there and stick it in his 2 1/2ft malawi and oscar tank or something stupid like that. Id be very glad is somebody on here brought it as I would know it would be going to a good home, even better if it goes to a breeder! :D As you will notice the price on here is £80 rather than the £100 stated on Aquarist classified because I would rather it went to somebody who would really appreciate it but in all honesty I would much much prefer to get my hand on some female L066 than the cash!

Full grown adult female approximately 10ins, I am very attached to her and reluctant to sell but unfortunately she is too large for the tank. She has been well looked after and fed on a diet of courgette, peas, new era algae pellets, muscle, cockle, shrimp, prawn, crayfish… She has a HUGE appetite for her size and species easily devouring a 5inch piece of courgette in a night! Will need a nice large mature tank with soft low pH water loads of hiding places (She lives in a 4inch pipe at the moment), peaceful tank mates and a very strong filtration system with plenty of flow. She did originally come from somebody who kept her in a hard water system where the pH was 8.2 and both GH and KH off the scale but I would severely recommend against this as it would not be suitable for her welfare.

I would like about £80 or nearest offer as these fish can be hard to come by especially at this size.

I would also happily swap this fish for either:
4 Mixed (Unknown sex) 3-4inch+ L066 Hypancistrus sp.
or
2 POSITIVELY sexed FEMALE 3-4inch+ L066 Hypancistrus sp.

I would however require photos of the fish that would be traded beforehand.

Currently lives in a 140x50x35cm sparsely planted Amazon biotope tank part of a 400L+ approx system. Water is RO with minerals filtered through peat with twice weekly 15% water change + Top ups.
Water tested every few days with parameters currently standing at:
pH 7
GH 4
KH 3
NH3 0ppm
NO2 0ppm
NO3 0-5ppm
PO4 0ppm

I am prepared to travel to deliver up to 80 miles from the BH15 area at an additional cost of £5 per 10 miles (this covers both legs of the journey) If preferred collection is also possible however both daytime collection and delivery would only be available on Thursday or Friday or collection 7pm onwards on days other than Thursday and Friday. I am able to provide a large poly box and very large koi bags for transportation and can have the fish bagged and ready to go in the shortest time possible to minimise stress.

this is a beauty and it should go to someone who is serious about breeding this species.

Still have the big girl just re-listed her on Aquarist classified with a reduced price as you said I would much rather a planet catfish member and breeder buy this fish so I am now offering a reduced price/discount of £70 to any planet catfish member who is interested.

Well, I'm to far away to do anything about that... but do you know what species this is? L29, L007, L241
Is she from Brasil or Venesuela?
