How many different catfish?
I managed to get a selection of fish (all species in this particular tank are represented in the picture):
[And apologies for the rubbish quality when you look closely at the image!]

Let's see if anyone can spot and identify all of them [no cheating by looking at "my cats"]...

Re: How many different catfish?
I am not knowledgeable enough to guess at all the species, but man, I can see a lot of catfish in there. I'll let others do the guess. Nice shot though.

Re: How many different catfish?
a week from now I will have six 3 inch individuals
Juvi of on glass
possible female of under log
Some kind of pleco...thinking or going by the pattern but could be off on this.
Marisa comuarietis(snails) hmm that is wrong but some kind of ramshorn snail.
Not sure of the characin peeking around the rock on the bottom right...just not clear enough for me.
That's what I see...what did I miss??
Edit; I just spotted the microglanis species strait behind the caudal of the S.flavitaeniatus
There is another blurry syno at the back if one looks over the dorsal of the S.alberti

Re: How many different catfish?
Birger,
you got all of them, there are two different Synos in the tank,
S. alberti and S. flaviataenata.
Two Loricariidae:
A. cf. cirrhosus
P. cf leopardus
And one Microglanis species [yet to be identified](well, I say one species, they came from one shipment in one tank - I think Richard B at one point suggested it may be two species).
Oh, and there are Barbus fasciolatus too - not catfish of course.
By the way, the Ancsitrus aren't meant to be there - they have "escaped" from the tank one level above, presumably by either following the overflow drain of the centralized filter-system, or by swimming up the outlet from the sump - I have seen larger fish arrive in the tanks, so I think they do indeed swim up the outlet...

Where's the P. cf leopardus? In the left corner under the log? I saw something that I thought might have been like that but wasn't sure.MatsP wrote:Birger,

Re: How many different catfish?
The Pseudacanthicus is on the left-hand side, sitting "tail out" under the log, you can clearly see the orange/red tail and the dark-spotted, brown body.
