Yes, what is sold as L114 are from Rio demini state of amazonas and much cheaper, what is sold as LDA07 is from the north of Roraima on the border to Guyana and is much more expensive.

Re: L114 varietys
I think there are some variability, and it's quite possibly dependent on where they come from. There is also the true P. leopardus aka L600/LDA07 that is very similar, but from a different river system.
See:
Particularly, in the former, it shows some with a almost fully red tail, and others with only the upper and lower part of the rail being red, and the middle being brown/spotted brown & black.

Re: L114 varietys
They are never exported together as "one species" due to the different localities and the very large different in price.

Re: L114 varietys
I'll be very curious to see what your L114s look like. I got 4 from snook, and 3 of them look very different from each other. 2 are the classic dark form, with red edging on the tail fin; one is generally pale in color (lighter spots and the spots are smaller, almost blonde in color) and the tail has a little leopard print on it; and the last one is darker, but the tail fin is entirely orange red (like L600). You can see some pics of them on the MFK link (I should take some new pics now that they seem to have been cured of "velvet"; I had a link for my trials and tribulations on PC, but just have been contintuing it on MFK).
Also, will be using your home-made black stylish caves with the L-114s? Mine love the coconut husk caves, to hide and eat (surprising for a carnivorous plecos).

Re: L114 varietys
So how are your L114s from different locales doing? Any pics?
Mine are starting to darken a little, and just starting grow streamers/lyretails.
