The CSG "Friday fish shop trip" plans...

Post by MatsP »

In reference to this, here's some idea of a plan...
http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... =2&t=29059

The plan is based on arriving at Southport no later than 6 pm for the purpose of being checked in, showered/changed if need be and ready for dinner at 7pm for 7.30pm.

So, my thoughts was to start with Britain's Aquarium Superstore - it appears they are open and doing business as usual.

I've made an initial plan here:
Google maps "My map Catconvuk 2010"

This means:
Meeting at B.A.S around 11.30
Spend an hour or so there, including a quick Bacon Sarnie + cup of tea (or coke in my case?)

Leave at 12.30 for
Pier Aquatics, Wigan
Arrive 13.00
Spend an 1h30m there (?)

Leave at 14.30 for
Aqualife
Arrive 15.00
Spend an hour there
Leave at 16.00

Arrive at Southport at 16.30.

Now that's PLENTY of time - anyone got any suggestions for additional shops to add to this list?

Are we talking Friday the 5th? I might pop up on the train. I could do with some more Torpedo Barbs since some young family members today terrified 3 of them enough to make a break for it.

I certainly have no idea - but in the whole scheme of things, it's not very many extra miles, and it's from past experience a nice place...

Where's TP when we need him?

I went into Aqualife this weekend, they said by Friday they could have 90 or so different species of cats if everything comes in!.

Already there was quite a variety, all the normal common stuff and then some akysis, haras, Jags, L morrowi, T. exilis? (supposed to be T decoradiatius), syno Angelicus, s. decora, a lot of plecs and loads of corys but they are not really my thing although even I did recognise the H. Zebra!. Plenty of other stuff as well, I'm just not as good a remembering lists as Richard!

Its definitely well worth a visit.

I'll try and get out early enough to come to BAS, if not I'll meet up at Pier I guess.

Richard, if you could PM me your mobile I can check where you are when I am able to get away!!

Hi All,
Just following up TP's post on Aqualife.
They've got a huge range of cats in at the moment with like TP said going to increase by friday.
Some L numbers include 201,46,66,240,177,190,333,LDA19.
Corys include loretoensis,davidsandsi,simulans,C113,C89,C003,concolor,axelrodi,oiapoquensis.
A few different driftwood cats including some pairs of tatia negra.
Thay've also a got a great range of characins, livebearers and barbs in as well.

I'm hopeing to make it to BAS but if not i'll definitely meet you guys at pier.

That would be , I suppose. We need a couple of photos of these, as there are none in the Cat-eLog.

Sounds like well worth a visit - not that it surprises me.

Actually, there should be pictures in the revision - I will try to get some copies into the Cat-eLog - and I will try to get some photos in the shop if at all possible.

That's good enough for me as well

Wrt your last posting: the revision only shows dead specimens; I prefer live ones. But thanks anyway for the offer/attempt to make some pictures. Curious about what these look like.

Dudes,

I am driving down with Clare and Jacob and dropping them off in Dumfries. So, I think I can make it in 4.5 hours which gives myself 12 minutes for break/drop off.

I can't set off earlier than 08:30, so ETA would be 13:00. Guess I meet you at Pier?

Johnny Jensen is coming too I think.

Jools,

I'm happy to set of a little bit later and be at B.A.S around 1pm? Anyone else object to that? Seems like TP would prefer a slightly later time too.

It doesn't make a huge amount of difference to me.

Modified timings:

Meeting at B.A.S around 13.00
Spend an hour or so there, including a quick Bacon Sarnie + cup of tea (or coke in my case?)

Leave at 14.00 for
Pier Aquatics, Wigan
Arrive 15.00
Spend an hour there (?)

Leave at 16.00 for
Aqualife
Arrive 16.30
Spend an hour there
Leave at 17.30

Arrive at Southport at 18.00.

I shortened the time at Pier to an hour - I think that will still work OK.
