Put it either in the middle of the water column or near the surface.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. They are probably used to areas with a stronger water flow (e.g. a large river).

You don't mention how long the tank has been up, or how regularly you change out what % of your water. Those bits of information might help us give you advice on what could potentially be wrong.

well..ok..sorry...

ermmmm..the tank has been around for months already and i usually change 20& of water weekly...and i top up water almost every 2 days...

it's a 4x2 with sump of 400 bio balls and i lost count of how many kg's of ceremic rings already....so i suppose bio filtration is not a problem....

average ph is around 6.8 but sometimes i dont know why but it gets real acidic....so i've added coral chips and i still havent get a reading of the results....

i have 4 of them....2x5" , 1x6" and lastly i think it's around 7/8"....they have been around for quite some time already...the largest one is very very skittish...and well...i dont know why but the largest one is also kind of pale in colour...ermm..i mean that it's colour is not as 'matt black' as the rest...however,this varies...

well...that's all i could think of for now...anything i miss out???
