44, almost 45, F, single. Designer(self-employed). Mostly restaurants/kitchens. Do I detect a theme? I share a house with my mom. I live with her love of opera. She lives with my love of fish. We both love to cook and love sports of all kinds. I love all handcrafts, such as crochet and needlepoint.

Too quickly approching 44, Male, newly married, managing director of a start-up company (pronounced just like "broke"). Love aviation, all forms of motor sports. In additoion to my aquaria, we have 2 horses, 2 goats...

Too many critters. If it breaths, my Better Half will rescue it, which I am finding more and more contagious. At least she's finally beginning to understand my love for fish. She even got her first cats last week! A nice little pair of otos.

49, M, I did get that extra tank and now separated, 2 great sons-22 & 30, one grandson with a possible on the way. In real life I do log & timberframe construction. Have been keeping fish since the age of 10. I also teach karate with both sons also blackbelts, one recently being on our national squad.

Serious :) When someone's having a bird about a fish-disaster, you seem to always be empathetic, reassuring and encouraging. I had you pegged as a nurse! When you're having a fit about something, that's why the rest of us are here!

Birger, What style of karate? I was in the all Ontario Championships in Tae Kwon Do, olympic dreams and all that but after I was the only one to medal, my 'career' ended because the other owner of the dojo and I broke up - that was a good thing but now I want to get my 40 something carcass moving again - was looking into Kendo.

Timberwolf, yea!, you've created a new addict! Tell her that the otos prefer to be in larger groups.. :beardy:

That's the plan, but not until we get her gang moved into her new, larger tank!

At least she's not quite as convinced that I'm nuts for being so addicted to my wet pets. She loves my tank almost too much (I have had to threaten to hide the fish food because she loves to watch them at feeding time.

In the middle of Canada too, Birger. I recently got asked for ID at the liquor store  The worst part is that I rarely carry any and after hugging the lady I had to send the hubby in.

Nobody else look okay?
http://www.tanaclarke.com

Needs serious updating. Don't have any of my new stuff there. No silver jewellery but I'm working on a farlowella necklace :beardy: Don't have a website for the plant propagation, bonzai etc, don't make enough yet. Also I think the website only shows some gourd and real flower jewellery, no wood or pen & ink. The pen and ink is mostly architecture so kind of boring unless you're looking to document something. One fish quilt is there but so many hobbies, so little time.

How distracted have others been lately?

A few days ago, I wrote:
43 in a few days (yea! I'm still here!),
And guess what? I just realized that I'm 44 NOT 43, oh man, now I've aged two years in one. I went through my whole 41st year telling people I was 42, that was totally by mistake too. I got a freebie year that year

My wrinkles hurt, I need a vacation.

So, who else is here? Our list is pretty short and we're missing some important folks and lots of new folks.

...so it all averages out.

Now you know why I've given up on the whole birthday thing. This May I will cheerfully ignore (if my daughter and Better Half will let me) the 22nd anniversary of my 22nd birthday!

Some idiot asked me recently if having children is what gave me wrinkles. i said "Nope! My head is shrinking!" (here's your sign)

32, F, I clean your mess every day  , living together with my boyfriend, absolutely no kids (I love my freedom, sorry...). We have 2 great dogs, a Bull Terrier and an American Staffordshire Terrier. Then there are the fish, 550 liters filled with discus and 2500 liter filled with corydoras and Lnumbers.

Since I was a kid I always wanted to work with horses. So after I trained at the only school in Holland for becoming a liccenced owner/trainer/rider and groom, I started living my dream :D After 15 great years of travelling from competition-competition, to stable-to stable and seeing several new lives been made and born (I worked my last 3 years at a vets practice for horse reproduction) I had to quit. My health started to get the better of me and so I had to seek a new job....a new life. I settled down and now work as a cleaner. It's fine, not very glamorous but he, some one has to do it and it pays the bills and my hobby's

Btw, not many women around here
Every great achievement begins with a dream ;-)

I looked through it after I wrote the site down and yup, it's pretty outdated  I have so many catfish related artwork and have never put one up there. Just got a printer that can do T-shirts, that should be fun! One of the LFS is probably going to carry them. I'll put a pic up here when they're done. My new Ask a Gardener feature will be using the donations for a bigger pond. So far I bought the beech tree (for the fish) and a sugar maple. I'll post you someday when it's updated. Thanks for the boost.
and lol on you being a year older than you thought! ((hugs))
Pathetic eh? I'm not worried though, I have more fun now than I did way back when, so life is good. For my b-day I got a school of Cardinal tetras and have money to spend on getting something done with my waaaayy too long hair. At 44, I'm old enough not to care, going to do something wild!

I beg to differ. :)
You found like-minded people here and it sounds like you have the opportunity to start fresh! The best part is that you've already got one tank to help you on your journey into a new life

Most of us have been in a $%@& situation before but you're only 38, so the whole world is still out there.
Since you can write, it shows that you're not dead and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, eh?
