Dull, Brown Hoplo Catfish? ID?

Post by Madding »

Currently I have no pictures available, but this catfish looks -exactly- like , only there is no pattern whatsoever. It is a very forgettable brown color. Armor is very visible. Is this just an offshoot Hoplo or is there a species I am not aware of?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Edit: I found a couple of old pictures of my cat. He's about two inches longer now:

They can vary quite a bit in colour and pattern. Mine are dark brown with slightly darker spots.

There is also some that look very similar...
