Hello Mats and thank 's for feedback.

I have used a 110 liter tank with sand-substrate, a few rock to give the fish some hide and one single cave.
Temp 27+
Ph 6,5
Gh 3

Replace 30% of the water once a week. When i replace the water i lower the temp 2-3 Degrees.

I use two bio/mecanical filters. One inside the tank and one outside. Both whith 600 l/h in capasity and two circulationpumps with 600 l/h and 1500 l/h.

The tank contain five L-339.

From pictures and articles i have seen, i'm sure i have two male and two female hypancistrus. The last one I'm not sure if it's male or female.

You are free to use my information in the Cat-eLog, Mats

Some pics of my L-339

As you can see there is som differens between the adult's color and spots.

The first pic shows the male, using his fin to keep up circulation in the cave. All of the fry is hiding inside in the upper right corner.

Can you e-mail those pictures to mats at planetcatfish dot com with a copy to webmaster at planetcatfish - along with your full name for the photo credits.

Beware that it may take a few days to get through my pile of pictures in my inbox - I think I've got a couple of dozen.

Thanks.

I thougth everyting was lost to day.
No male or fry was in the cave when i did som waterchange :(

Well, that was that.

But when i saw a fight betveen to malefish and had a better look inside the tank, there was 3 smal fry under a rockformation :an:

Phuuu.
I'm so happy.

Anyway here are som more pics of the adult. Will do my best to capure som pics of the fry also, but they er small and very fast swimming so it would't be easy to capture them with camera.

It's very common for the first spawn to be less successful than further spawnings, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

why catch them? isn't it a species only tank? can you just cover the intake with netting so they do not get sucked up into the filter?
