colour changing syno????

Post by jenh »

hi i bought what i thought was two featherfin synos only as they have grown they are looking rather odd the dorsal fin isn't right for a featherfin and they have also started changing colour, they are usually dark grey to black with black spots all over but occasionally turn bright yellow with black spots does anyone know what they may be as i don't believe they are true featherfin synos i am trying to get some pictures on but and struggling with the size of the files at the moment but i'll try to get them on asap any help to i dentify them would really help thanks

The feathered dorsal fin develps as they grow, and the reticulate pattern gradually breaks up into one of spots. Your fish could be true featherfins, or they might be hybrids, but we can't really tell without photos.
