My Panaque sp. L190
I remembered to take my Panasonic Lumix G1 home this weekend to take some photos of my new favourite fish. He (right?) is 39cm or just under 16" TL if you prefer. I just wanted to share some photos with you all. Oh and would you say he is definitely P. nigrolineatus or L190?

Nice pictures. Shame your shirt is reflecting in some of the shots - tip: Wear dark clothes when photographing fish [like I remember to do that, yeah, right...]
In the Cat-eLog, L190 and P. nigrolineatus are thought to be the same thing. I'm not sure where there is any information that so ISN'T the case. There are some other L-numbers (L27{a, b, c, d} for example) that are _probably_ also the same species, but different regional variations. Obviously, this depends on the scientists agreeing that these fish are the same species, and not splitting them up into different species. Which will depend on whether it's a splitter or lumper that does the scientific research.

Thanks for the comments. @ matsp, I'll try to do that, im still learning how to use the camera properly. Because the tank is open top the light fills the room so I find reflections are hard no eliminate without any equipment.

very nice Panaque!
want to have it!
maybe take pictures when it's dark, only aquarium lights on? works fine for me!

Re: My Panaque sp. L190
Wonderful looking fish I definitely want to keep these in the future!
Q) Why are dead fish harder to 'wind up' than live fish?
A) Because dead fish never take the bait! ;)
