I am interested in obtaining some male and female brown hoplos. I am intrigued with their bubble nesting and have seen videos of them building a nest, but I would like a first hand opportunity on trying to have them nest in a tank.
If there is anyone that has any hoplo they would like to sell of any size, please let me know.

Aren't these an invasive species already in the Florida waterways?

I believe they are, however, I am looking for tank raised hoplos that have been accustomed to a tank environment so that I can witness a bubble nester.

Re: Brown Hoplo (Hoplosternum Littorale)
I don't really see the difference - whether they are "acclimatised" to tank or not, they will not be very hard to breed. But there are commercial breeders in florida that breed these fish too, so I don't think they are hard to find.brownhoplo wrote:I believe they are, however, I am looking for tank raised hoplos that have been accustomed to a tank environment so that I can witness a bubble nester.
