Its hard to believe I was sold this guy when he was about 2 inches and was assured he would get no bigger then 4 inches and that he was a butterfly pleco.
Of course at the time I didnt know much about plecos as I do now.
He is a big sailfin, not as big as my other but he is getting there.

How long have you had him? I too bought a butterfly pleco that's grown into a nice little monster. Fortunately I knew he was a gibby beforehand. I bought mine at about 1.5" inches back in February (I think). While I haven't measured him in quite a while, I'm guessing he's close to 6"-7" SL.
My wife likes cats.

This post is a perfect illustration why I'm hellbent on those crappy common names.
Every selfrespecting LFS should put the latin names on their tanks, with the common names next to those if necessary.
Most here do, but the crappy shops don't. obvious I don't buy there anymore anyway.

Plan B should not automatically be twice as much explosives as Plan A
Yeah I know I got 2 clowns in my planted tank and I have kept several sailfins.I have pointed it out to the offending fish shops but they dont seem to care The other day I saw clowns going for much more than the normal price, reason being they had them labled as "Zebra Clown Pl*co's" Stoooopid lfsConnie wrote:T- clown pl*cos grow to about 4 inches this is a gibby which grows to 14 inches I doubt anywhere would make such a mistake unless it is a bad petshop that is confused.
