Loricariid from Colombia - what am I?

Post by anubiasdesign »

Hey All,
I got these in from Colombia this week as Lamontichthys llaneros. They're definitely not that species but I'm not sure what they are. I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi!!

That is a Rineloricaria species, possibly the one called and still undescribed Rineloricaria sp "Puerto Ayacucho"

Cheers

Am I missing something? Looks just like a typical from the llanos to me.

Hmmm, I think we might have photos of more than one sp of Rineloricaria in the Cat-eLog under eigenmanni. Specimens I collected in Venezuela/Colombia never showed the belly spots that are evident in a couple of the Cat-eLog photos. The bellies were always unmarked as in the above photos.
