We've got a few repeats so you're not alone. When I look for a new fish now, I use the Edit-Find feature on my browser because the list is too long to look through!

d) All my names are from a school subject - or maybe two if you're old school or private school.
Racing, shoes and fish. Nothing else matters. Oh, and bacon.

My genus name could refer to 'an enigma'.
I have a distinguishing trait that is shared by some species in a genus that is from Africa.

I've dropped away from this thread for a bit & now find myself to be scratching round for ideas as to what the current sp. might be!

New fish:
I'm small & about "a year old"

A quite brilliant guess, probably better than the fish it actually is, but no not this one.
This fish is about "11 years old" & nearly 22" too big

That was rather Penny-esque, glad you knew what I meant!
Still searching, wish it would show more than 100 results at a time..
Argh! Fits small and TBBT but not 1 year old/african...back to the fishing rod..

Wolowitz, Africa, 2 inch, 2008, Richard B-style fish
If this is the fish, I found it by looking in that All Show Size link. Didn't come up on African Waters/sizes on Cat-elog advanced search so that means Richard needs one of these so the Cat-elog page can be properly completed.

Well done indeed - that's the one!
I am presuming this species is similar in habits to contracta & nigriventris, therefore i'd require a substantial shoal
