INCREDIBLE PIECE OF WOOD!! Now THAT's a root!! Sure would love to find something like that for my tanks. I mean find literally, since I'd imagine something like that would cost an arm and leg at the LFS. Beautiful find:)

Thanks for all the nice comments :) This really is e root for the records. It have so many places for my catfish to hide an thribe. After this purchase my L-333 have spawned and now the youngsters enjoy the big foot, even they're small. It is especially nice so see how many places there is under the root. You know they fancy darkness and shelter, so there is a community root.

I will try to feed you with pictures from the tank. The root was installed about one month ago and its working :D

Again, very nice with the positive fedback. Catfish is so interesting, and making a good invironment for them means a lot to me.

My pH is low. Its under 6,2. Is it possible that the root is the cause of this low pH?

My tap water have pH on 7,0. But just after a few days its going down. The root is a Mangroove root.

I expect it does lower the pH. Wood certainly does in general.

Also, since your pH is 7.0 from the tap-water, it is probably fairly soft water, possibly with a bit of water-board added temporary buffer that dissipates over time, which also would cause the pH to drop (the water company will often add a bit of pH buffer to raise the pH).

What will stabilize the pH? Calsium of natriumbikarbonat?

if you mean will natriumbicarbonate or calciumbicarbonate raise the pH - they will both.

However, most likely natriumbicarbonate (=sodiumbicarbonate, but natrium = Sodium in dutch- and presumably Norwegian) will be cheaper
