L134 info?!

Post by shadowcat »

Good Morning All. I just "discovered" the L134, Leopard Frog pleco...who makes up these names anyway??...Well, it looks like a fish I'd like to have, soooo, I'm asking for info from current keepers of these guys. To begin with, the cat-e-log says they get to about 4+ inches, 10-12cm's. Does that sound accurate to you guys that have them?? I'm considering adding one, possibly two, to an existing 90cmx45cmx60cm tank that has 3 L260's already. Assuming I have adequate cavework does anyone foresee a problem??

Hah, common names are usually made up by the exporter or

To phrase it as a negative: I haven't heard anyone say that the Cat-eLog is INCORRECT, so I expect it to grow to roughly 4.5" SL - not counting the tail-fin itself. Most of the fish for sale is "teenagers", so they are not fully grown, about 2/3rds of full size or so.

And given good amounts of caves, I don't see any problem mixing this fish with L260.

I happen to know this common name was made up by someone decidely more special, hehe. *looks @ Jools*

L260 and L134 do fine in the same tank, as long as it's large enough. I've even had spawns from both with them together. Usually I try to shoot for fish that don't fit in each other's caves, but I wasn't working on spawning them when they spawned in spite of me ;).
