L168 pleco

Post by x_davo_x »

hi all
just after some info on the L168 pleco. I'm new when it comes to pleco's.
i've just bought a L168 pleco from my LFS for my community tank just because they are a nice looking pleco. After getting the fish home the wife said why don't ya try and breed them. currently i'm breeding bristlenose catfish with success.
so here i go and i'm sorry in advance for all the questions.

-is it hard to breed them
-will they breed in a community tank or own tank
-whats the difference between male and female
-at what size or age are they mature enough to breed
-what tank setup is preferred
-and what action is taken to get them to spawn

anyway sorry for all the questions and any info or tips would be great.

cheers dave

Welcome to Planet catfish :D
is the cat-e-log page for this species with some good info. Also see L number breeding articles in "Shane's World" - lots of your questions will be answered.

Janne (one of the Mods) should be able to provide you with any specific info you are unable to find - he may post soon but you could drop him a PM after reading the articles available that i've mentioned
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!
