i have always had an interest in these little fish and i really wanted to breed them
i have a 30 gallon tall tank(main tank it has guppies), a 10 gallon which is empty(planing to make into breeding tank), and a 2 gallon fish bowl (brine shrimp hatchery?)
can any one help????

There are some breeding reports, but it doesn't seem like most people are very good at REPEATING the breeding effort. Some people report that Oto's breed better if they are kept with breeding Corys - the theory is that the hormones released by the Corys are stimulating the Otos to breed too.

(from one of your other threads) - it will be important to make sure you have a mix of sexes of the same species - sounds obvious but otos are hard to identify - the best way to ensure this would probably be to purchase a half a dozen or more from a large single import batch at a store

i would but im on a small budget and the corysies around where i live r around $4.00 and i have a small tank at the moment

hey i got more otos and i think they feel crowded 2 attempted to breed though. i think i have more than one speices and i was wondering if they will breed with similar otos?
