Corydoras sp. (C131) longfin?

Post by maddog10 »

Just got this guy. Has anyone else had one with a longfin? Curious as to how often this happens. It is a wild caught fish.

Your fish might have a genetic flaw that results in the tail.

Interesting fish! There are occassional oddities pop up - i remember Sands, CotW vol 4 had a pic of a rineloricaria with a enlarged & rayed adipose fin.
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

Such variations are the raw materials of evolution.

Such traits are also the raw material of the many variations we see bred into commercial strains of fish. Things like a balloon molly, various lyretail variations of fish and so forth probably happened once by an accident of genetic variation but was noticed and reinforced to give those that we see in pet shops today.
