L128 Sexing?

Post by iis2see »

Is there a way to sex L128's?
I have one nice 5" and there are a few 4-5" at my LFS.
Would like to get the one I have paired up.
Barracuda are pretty fast, particularly the Hemi variety.

Seemed that the forum was inconclusive...

It is very difficult to sex new fish after they have gone through the whole transport dilemma, sexual dimorphism(differences) are quite often difficult to discern at the LFS as well as the fact the fish may not even be big enough to sex.

Most often it takes time spent in quality conditions before males as well as females begin to show these differences and to be sure in sexing, it is recommended to buy a group to ensure getting at least a male and female.

I realize this is not always possible but then it becomes a bit of a gamble.

Even with Haavards quality photo's in the other thread it was difficult to discern.
