is there a condensed list somewhere of meds that catifsh can and cannot tolerate?

I am wondering if meds like Prazipro and Ultra Cure PX are safe?

to try and be more specific... synodontis angelicus and petricola....sterbai cory...BN pleco...and gold nugget (L018)

I don't know what's in "Ultra Cure", but Praziquantel is very easy on the catfish I've used it on. (that's swahili for LOTS of catfish, hehe). Do you know what you're treating FOR? I think that would be the bigger question here.

would be a prophylactic treatment deworming/de-fluking while in quarantine before hopefully going into my discus tanks

the angelicus and petricola will be going into their own tank at someone elses house with other synodontis and the rest eventually into 2 discus tanks

but right now they are all together in the QT since they were all purchased recently

Gel Tek Ultra Cure PX is metronidazole, flubenol and praziquantel meant to hopefully be ingested as oral treatment rather than treating the water

I have only recently become interested in catfish/plecos and I am not too familiar with them. I thought I remembered reading that some catfish are much more sensitive to some medications than other fish. So where better to inquire than PC ?

Yes, some cats are definately very sensitive to meds! I can only speak for the synos - they are quite tough really & can survive less than ideal conditions, without problems - not to say they should be kept like this though - they deserve the best. However when they become sick they can be hard to treat as they have battled against the adverse conditions/disease for so long it then becomes a battle to get them back to good health. Good quality water is always paramount in these cases. The angelicus is quite adaptable to water requirements but can be aggressive & a bit of a bully when mixed with other synos. Petricola (lucipinnis?) don't thrive in acidic conditions & ideally should be kept in Malawi or tanganyikan systems.

I can't really comment on the nugget or sterbai.

I seem to remember that the 'scaleless' catfishes can't tolerate much copper, which is often used in aquatic medicines

This has some validity but stuff like pims are much more sensitive than synos for example
