Finally got my Bagarius!!

Post by Peanut_Power »

Hey all!! I know I don't post here too horribly often, but I do like to browse and read up the forums. Just wanted to say its a great site, looking forward to talking with some of you!!

Well, like the title says, I finally got my Bagarius!!!! Which species of Bagarius you might ask? Only the biggets pain in the bootie one to find. Its taken me very close to almost three years to acquire this awesome fish! Now that I have it, I am totally stoked! Just an amazing fish, more than I expected. So, I present you with, Bagarius suchus. :an:

Hello.

Fantastic looking fish.

Have you had the ID confirmed by an expert?

I guess I'm not entirely sure. I was pretty sure it was suchus, and have had a few people confirm it as suchus, yet there is still a nagging doubt in my mind. Plus a few people have hinted at it not being suchus. *sigh*. Any thoughts?

Anyone have any thoughts as to which species it might be then? Someone suggested it might be a variant of Bagarius bagarius, which would really suck, cuz I was wanting one that grew larger than approx. 10". Then someone else suggested that it might be a new species altogether. That would be cool in a way, but kind of annoying at the same times because not sure how large it will get.

Rrrg, all I wanted was suchus. I guess my search continues.

It could be but, it looks a stubbier individual. Silurus would bew able to say......
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

Heres to hoping huh? Silurus hasn't checked it out yet I guess, would be nice if he could give a little of his input. :)

You could post the pics again in the "what's my catfish" forum titled "please confirm bagarius ID" or something similar to see if that get's a better response (?)

Ok, I wasn't sure if it would cause problems starting a multiple thread about the same fish. Will do though. :)

One thread is about confirming the ID of a fish.....the other is about the fish, celebrating you finding a fish you've been after for a while, discussing how it's being kept etc....i see no problem with the slight duplication, by way of pics (?)
