Did you know fantastic help is an anagram of Planet Catfish? This forum is for those of you with pictures of your catfish who are looking for help identifying them. There are many here to help and a firm ID is the first step towards keeping your catfish in the best conditions.
The picture appears to be nicked directly from the Cat-ELog.
It's reversed with a bit of cropping, but it's the same picture. You may want to remind your dealer that the images in the Cat-ELog are copyrighted to the original photographer. Unauthorized use is not permitted.
It was nicked from the Pier Aquatics site I think. Anyway, the fish did not arrive in any numbers and I would not hold any hope of finding any for sale at present.
it only information given was it was imported from Peru...but like you can imagine with such beauty, the origin won't be known for sure in a longtime...buisness protection by the person who found it, I am sure he don't want anyother people to find, catch and sell these beauty...and as stated by Jools...unlikely these will hit the market in number anytime soon...

I remember when these pics first showed up. It's been a while so I can't really remember with certainty, but I think they came from Mortenthaler in Peru.

The sp(3) denotes it is an as yet un-named/described panaque. PC has designated it as sp(3) until such a time as an official ID has been documented.

The photo against the black substrate shows a truly stunning fish. Much better than the newly added photos i think. Whether we see this available though.....

Hmmm, very interesting indeed, certainly food for thought on displaying this (& other fish), but then again very light or artificial coloured substrates seldom allow fish to settle & look their best.
