My male ancistrus dsn't have interest on females! PICS ADDED

Hello;

I have 1 M 2 F Ancistrus Cirrhosuses. My aquarium is 150 liters and I have lots of breeding pots.
But my male fish (12 cm long) doesn't have any interest on females. He usualy hangs around aquarium. Actually he doesn't like to enter the caves.

What can I do for it?

My aquarium;
Temp : 26 C

Foods: Sera flora, sera granugreen, granumeat, cucumber

There is a bogwood inside the tank.

1 cm gravel, air stone and filter.

Are the females "nice and round" at the back end of the body (towards the ventral fins)?

Are you sure the females are actually females and not males?

Could you look at the photos and rethink your hypothesis.

I think having ripe females is the determining factor when it comes to breeding Ancistrus or other plecos for that matter rather than an unwilling male.
i would feed them spirulina and earth worm sticks to bring the females into spawning condition. Also provide snacks of blanched squash or zucchini every few days and step up the volume and frequency of the water changes. Once the females show obvious signs of being full of eggs try a succession of large water changes using replacement water cool enough to drop the temperature 5*F frequently.

I think Brian (Chrysichthys) was being a bit derogatory towards the sexual bent of your male - classic joke in many TV Comedy shows - but I don't think it's a likely scenario at all.

I think Larry and I have the correct answer: Your females aren't ripe enough, or aren't "in the mood". Cool water changes is pretty good way to "get them into the mood", but a few bits of tasty, nutritious food is also a good aphrodisiac in the Bristlenose world (and other Loricariidae for that matter).
